Applied Materials Credit Management-Senior L/C Specialist (B4) in Santa Clara, California

Job Summary

The Senior Letters of Credit (L/C) Specialist is responsible for handling the Company’s export letters-of-credit portfolios and customer credit risk management activities. The position is in the corporate treasury function, will report to the Director of Global Credit Management located in Santa Clara, California. This is a high-profile, very fast-paced position in a dynamic group, which will offer the opportunity for exposure to other Treasury activities and high personal growth.

Key Responsibilities

· Responsible for global export letters-of-credit (L/C) portfolios, order-to-cash activities with minimal oversight.

· Enforce corporate standard L/C terms and procedures.

· Optimize controls and balance risk-rewards Partner with various finance and non-finance functions to define and implement credit and L/C terms requirements.

· Perform required activities and analysis to minimize credit risk and L/C payment risk, identify and mitigate potential issues, solve problems independently on recurring tasks.

· Interact and present analytical findings to various stakeholders (staff and leadership levels)

· Develop dashboards and reports to track recurring L/C tasks, cycle time and performance management.

· Key participant or lead for system integration or process improvement initiatives

· Support various credit management, SOX controls and compliance activities.

Functional Knowledge

  • Demonstrates conceptual and practical expertise in own discipline and basic knowledge of related disciplines

  • Has in-depth knowledge of export Letters of Credit UCP 600 and ISP98. Know-how to interpret and apply L/C requirements to sales agreements and shipping documents

  • Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrated with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market

Leadership

  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience; may lead small projects with manageable risks and resource requirements

  • Serves as subject-matter-expert for all things related to export letters of credits

  • Solves complex problems; takes a new perspective on existing solutions; exercises judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree

Skills:

  • Proficient knowledge in trade finance and compliance UCP 600, UCC Article 5, ISBP, Incoterms, URR, URC, ISP98

  • Bank’s due diligence, KYC, AML compliance program

  • Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau, SharePoint, Outlook

Certifications:

  • Valid Certified Documentary Credit Specialist (CDS) and relevant industry experience is preferred

U.S. Salary Range:

$120,000.00 - $165,000.00

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.

For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
